“We’re not going to let that affect our preparation,” said Auburn head coach Hugh Freeze. “We’ve got a lot of respect for Missouri and their program, but we believe in our own team.”
Auburn enters the game with a 4-2 record, including victories over San Jose State, Mercer, LSU, and Western Kentucky. However, the Tigers fell short in close losses to Penn State and Georgia.
Missouri, meanwhile, has compiled a 4-3 mark in 2023. The Tigers recorded wins over Louisiana Tech, Kansas, South Carolina, and Vanderbilt but lost to Kansas State, Auburn, and Florida.
The Tigers will need to play a near-perfect game to pull off the upset on Saturday. They must control the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball and force Missouri into mistakes.
“We know that Auburn is a talented team,” said Missouri head coach Eli Drinkwitz. “But we’re confident that we can go into their stadium and get a win if we play to our potential.”
The game between Auburn and Missouri will kick off at 12:00 PM CT on Saturday, October 14, 2023. It will be televised on SEC Network.
