Badgers Basketball to Participate in 2025 Rady Children’s Invitational
The Wisconsin Badgers men’s basketball team has accepted an invitation to participate in the 2025 Rady Children’s Invitational, a four-team tournament benefiting Rady Children’s Hospital in San Diego, California.
Tournament Format
The invitational will take place from November 25-27, 2025, at Viejas Arena on the campus of San Diego State University. The Badgers will face three other top-tier programs in a round-robin format, with the top two teams advancing to the championship game on November 27.
Elite Competition
The field for the 2025 Rady Children’s Invitational is expected to be highly competitive, with several other high-profile programs receiving invitations. The final three teams will be announced at a later date.
“Great Opportunity”
Wisconsin head coach Greg Gard expressed his excitement about the invitation:
“This is a great opportunity for our program to compete against some of the best teams in the country while also supporting a great cause. Our players are looking forward to the challenge and the chance to give back to the community.”
Philanthropic Impact
Since its inception in 2015, the Rady Children’s Invitational has raised over $3 million for Rady Children’s Hospital, which provides critical medical care to children in San Diego County.
Future Prospects
The Badgers’ participation in the 2025 Rady Children’s Invitational is part of a larger effort to schedule challenging non-conference games in the coming years. Wisconsin will also face Kansas in the 2023 Maui Jim Maui Invitational and Gonzaga in the 2024 Battle 4 Atlantis.
The Badgers are expected to be a competitive team in 2025, with a number of talented players returning from this year’s squad. The team will be led by sophomore forward Tyler Wahl, who was named to the All-Big Ten Freshman Team in 2023.
