Haynes Named ACC Defensive Lineman of the Week
Haynes, a redshirt junior defensive lineman, was a force in the trenches against the Tar Heels, recording four tackles, including two tackles for loss and two sacks. His two sacks gave him the team lead with 3.5 on the season.
“Jamal had a great game for us,” said Georgia Tech head coach Geoff Collins. “He’s a disruptive force on our defense, and he played a key role in our win over North Carolina.”
Rutledge Named ACC Specialist of the Week
Rutledge, a redshirt junior punt returner, had a 52-yard punt return touchdown in the third quarter that gave Georgia Tech a 21-14 lead. It was his second punt return touchdown of the season and the fourth of his career.
“Keylan is a dynamic playmaker,” said Collins. “He’s a threat to score every time he touches the ball, and he made a big play for us when we needed it most.”
