Brown, who joined the Bears’ staff as an assistant running backs coach in 2022, has previously served as the team’s running backs coach from 2015-2020.
### Brown’s Coaching Experience
Prior to joining the Bears, Brown spent time in the college ranks, serving as the running backs coach for Wisconsin (2012-2014) and Marshall (2009-2011).
### Challenges and Expectations
Brown inherits a Bears team that has struggled mightily in recent years, failing to reach the playoffs since 2018. The team has also dealt with numerous injuries this season, including to key players such as quarterback Justin Fields.
Despite the challenges, there is optimism that Brown can help the Bears improve on their 3-8 record. He is known for his strong work ethic and his ability to develop young players.
### Statement from Brown
“I am honored to be given the opportunity to lead this team,” Brown said. “I understand the challenges we face, but I am confident that we can come together and improve on the field.”
### Future Prospects
Brown will serve as interim head coach for the remainder of the 2022 season. The Bears are expected to conduct a full search for a permanent head coach in the offseason.
